Colombia Travel Advisory Reading

Tonight I decided to read through the travel advisory that the we got from our Travel agent regarding Colombia. Little did I know that Colombia is actually considered to be one of the worst spots to travel at the moment.

"Due to violent crime and the threat of terrorism against Westerners and Western interests, a US Department of Stat consular warning currently advises against all travel to Colombia."

Oh joys! When reading further, I come to the realization that this is a country that is truly not as safe as I once naively thought. We have to be constantly on our guard, not travel at night and not to trust anyone posing as a police officer.

This all comes to me as a sick realization in my stomach that I am about to be stretched, beyond what I have understood. I will be traveling outside of my country and entering into a country that will be completely foreign, even the language will be different. This will be the first time this will happen to me.

Taking all of this into consideration I now realize how important it is for prayer and support for this trip. It will only be through the grace that God gives us that we can travel to this country do what were called to do there and come back safely.

From a complete novice traveler, I implore you to pray for me and my team as we head down there. We need your support.
